Join the My Hometown Art Project, pick up a canvas at Berlin Peck Library, and
capture your favorite places to explore, visit, or enjoy (in town) with family and friends.
Craft supplies not in your budget?
We will have some supplies available on a first come first serve basis at the library.
The Town of Berlin has teamed up with the Berlin Peck Memorial Library for a special town-wide art project which will be called My Hometown.
We will provide at least 300 blank canvases for the community to share their vision of what Berlin means to them. There is no age limit on this project care of how little or how experienced in life you are… Our goal is to get people in town to paint, draw, or use mixed media to create art on these canvases so we can showcase all the talent we have in our community!
The project will LAUNCH on May 22 and run through July 15th. Art will be displayed in the library and throughout the community beginning June 25.
As a participant, you can expect:
Blank canvases will be available to everyone for pick up at the Berlin Peck Memorial Library starting on May 22.
Completed art projects should be delivered back to the library by 3 PM on July 15.
Art will be hung in the library and in Berlin businesses on small 2.5-inch x 5-inch easels provided by the Town of Berlin starting on July 15th (or so)
A celebration will be hosted in mid-July at the library for those who created and shared their art as well as Berlin Businesses who have collaborated with us in this effort.
As a business, you can select to be a host and the benefits to you include:
Recognition (on social media and marketing collateral) as a participating business,
An opportunity to engage with new people and families as they come in to see the displayed artwork at your business,
Have “my grandson’s art” or “Uncle Bob’s masterpiece” which could be put on social media by family members and possibly highlight your business as the location it is!
Have your OWN art on your walls if you decide so you can let your creativity run wild!
